Low / Non Alcohol Winner

Harvester’s Ale

Hall & Woodhouse / Badger Brewery

Tasting Profile
Notes: A light coloured, crisp and refreshing ale. Produced with a full body and flavour but lower alcohol. It provides a balance of malt and hop flavours giving a delicate citrus and grape like aroma with a medium carbonation level.

Appearance: Light golden brown

Aroma: A light hoppy aroma giving subtle grape like undertones

Taste: A medium bitterness, offset by a relative sweetness and full body

Technical
'Harvesters is brewed using the same process as used for all beers. However, it is mashed at a relatively high temperature. This has the effect of reducing the fermentability of the sugars that are extracted into the wort. Consequently, the amount of alcohol produced by the yeast during fermentation is lower than it would otherwise be but the body and general character of the beer are maintained. To ensure a pleasant and delicate flavour, small amounts of sugar and elderflower are used to balance the bitterness and to enhance the floral character from the hops.2.5% ABV
