Tasting Profile
Bernard Dark is dark garnet brown in colour with a thin lingering head. There is caramel on the nose along with faint coffee, sweet dark malt and a touch of dark cherry. Black coffee is evident too in the flavour, with toffee notes and a persistent blackcurrant fruitiness. Hops play a background role in this beer, providing a gentle bitterness to accompany the full flavour and long clean finish.
Technical
Brewed using traditional methods and microfiltered in the in the Czech Republic at the Bernard family brewery. Lagered using five types of Moravian malt from Bernards' own maltings, water from Bernard’s own spring and Saaz hops. 5.1% ABV. |
