The Tesco Drinks Awards exist to reward excellence in beers, spirits and UK wines. They are open only to products that are new to the UK market, which means that they are constantly challenging brewers, distillers and winemakers around the world to think creatively. This leads not only to exciting new products, but also interesting versions of products we are familiar with.
Here are few reasons why we are different
It’s about the taste
We evaluate the products solely on taste by judging the products ‘blind’. This allows us not only to be completely unbiased, but also to concentrate on the only thing that really matters - the quality of the product itself. We can help the winning producer with label designs and packaging later, if need be.
Volumes
Rather than setting rigid volume requirements, the size of the listing we will offer a winning producer will depend on their capacity and aspiriations. The competition, and the opportunities it affords, has got to work for all involved. |

Variety
Rather than evaluating niche styles against high-volume, popular styles we champion diversity in beer and therefore offer national listings to all variants of the brewers art, from Porters & Stouts to lager.
Regionality
Working closely with our Local Sourcing Offices, we offer regional beer listings in each of seven key regions, bringing the best of local beers to a wider market.
All the products you find here have been selected by professionals, including journalists and members of the Tesco team, as excellent examples of their type.
The 2008 winners are now in store - we hope you enjoy them. |
